| Description |
Charity care and community benefit levels are at the heart of every hospital's qualification to be tax exempt. That exemption is being questioned. Whether on the state level or on the congressional level, the bar has been raised. Schedule H will not only require that the information be reported and made public, but will also be used to compare and contrast with for-profit hospitals in an effort to justify tax exempt status.
Questions to be discussed at roundtables:
• What are hospitals doing to quantify community benefit?
• How are bad debts being treated?
• What qualifies as charity care?
• How does your hospital compare?
Our Schedule H Roundtable Discussions will allow you to hear what others are doing and gauge how your hospital is performing. You will be able to:
• Answer key Schedule H questions.
• Explain how the cost report and other reportings coincide with Schedule H.
• Discuss the IRS' view on charity care and community benefit.
• Discover how your organization measures up.
The Dixon Hughes Healthcare Group encourages hospital finance leaders to register to attend
one of our sessions.
